Okay. I know. We haven't blogged for 2 months!

We are alive -- just WAY busy. It started in April with the neighborhood garage sale. Then we decided it would be best to rearrange the house. We pretty much had the whole house in disarray because we had to change every single room. Sometimes I wonder about the ideas we get in our heads. The house is finally done!

In all the chaos of rearranging rooms, we celebrated Emily's 17th birthday! We didn't get too many pictures, though.

Among her favorite gifts were an antique sewing box, an antique pioneer dress (that will surely come in handy at church!) and Michael Buble CD's.

Then just 9 days later, we celebrated Mom's birthday. Emily and I stayed up really late the night before Mom's birthday and made this.

Mom loved it so much that we kept it up for the rest of the week! Every student that came into the house that week asked, "Oh, is it your mom's birthday?" to which I replied, "No. It was on Sunday. We just wanted to keep the balloons up." Then they looked at me like, 'Okay, what's her deal?'

Here is proof that our cat has to have the attention ALL THE TIME. It doesn't matter if it's some one's birthday, she thinks she can be a part of the party.

On June 12, I ran, yes RAN the entire Helvetia Half Marathon. (I only walked about 10 minutes of it!) Mom and Emily came to greet me at the finish line. It was so fun to see them at the end and I even shaved 37 minutes off of last year's time!

I am on the left side of the picture -- some random man stuck out his hand to high-five me ... and Emily got a picture of it. :)

And here I am at the end of the race, with my finisher's medal and a smile on my face.

And then some not-so-happy news. One of our favorite families from church is moving this week. We did a mini photo shoot before the kids left. We love them sooooo much! The kids even call mom 'Grandma.'

You can tell by the next two pictures how much fun we have with the kids. They're just the best!

Next adventure = take Emily's senior pictures. Yes. I said SENIOR pictures. :)
